You are responsible for complying with applicable laws, Google Play terms, third-party service terms, and any rules that apply in your location.

2. Account Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and sign-in credentials.

You are also responsible for activity that occurs through your account, including saved books, synced library data, purchases, and use of AI-powered features.

3. License

Bookshelf grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not copy, resell, redistribute, modify, reverse engineer, or misuse the app except where allowed by applicable law.

4. Purchases and Premium

Bookshelf may offer optional purchases through Google Play Billing, including:

Purchases are processed by Google Play and may be subject to Google Play’s payment, refund, cancellation, and subscription policies.

AI Premium may provide a limited number of shared AI actions per day. Usage limits may change to protect service reliability, control costs, or comply with provider limits.

Premium availability may vary by region, device, account status, Google Play availability, and service configuration.

5. AI Features

Bookshelf includes optional AI-powered features, including summaries, scanner assistance, and Magic Discover movie-to-book recommendations.

AI outputs are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or unsuitable for your needs.

You should verify important information before relying on AI-generated summaries, recommendations, scan results, or explanations.

You may not use AI features to submit unlawful, harmful, abusive, infringing, or privacy-invasive content.

6. Book Data, Reading Access, and Third-Party Content

Bookshelf uses third-party sources for book metadata, covers, previews, EPUB availability, downloads, and external reading links.

These sources may include Google Books, Open Library, Gutendex, and other linked providers.

Bookshelf does not guarantee that any book, preview, EPUB, download, external link, or full text will be available, accurate, complete, or suitable.

External websites, readers, downloads, and linked content are controlled by third parties and are subject to their own terms and policies.

7. Book Scanner

The Book Scanner feature may process images captured with your camera or selected from your gallery to identify books.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to submit any image you provide and that your use of the scanner complies with applicable laws.

8. Third-Party Services

Bookshelf relies on third-party services including Firebase, Google AdMob, Google Play Billing, Google Books API, Open Library API, Gutendex, and Google Gemini.

Third-party services may change, become unavailable, impose limits, or process data under their own terms and privacy policies.

9. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

10. Intellectual Property

Bookshelf, including its design, code, branding, text, and app-specific content, is owned by the developer or licensed to the developer.

Third-party book covers, metadata, previews, links, and other content remain owned by their respective rights holders.

All rights are reserved unless expressly stated otherwise.

11. Availability and Changes

Bookshelf may change, suspend, limit, or discontinue features at any time.

Features may depend on internet access, third-party providers, API limits, billing availability, account state, device compatibility, and regional availability.

12. Disclaimer

Bookshelf is provided “as is” and “as available.”

We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, complete book availability, accurate metadata, accurate AI outputs, or continued availability of third-party services.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bookshelf and its developer are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, access, purchases, profits, or use.

14. Termination

We may suspend or revoke access to Bookshelf or specific features if you violate these Terms, misuse the app, create risk, or if required by law or platform rules.
